Johnson Creek Does Branson!

9-30-13:  Fixin' to enjoy a week with our winter peeps from JCRV!

the ones who have trickled in are chowing down at Little Hacienda in Hollister tonight
10-1-13:  I had some of the group scheduled for a dam tour on Thursday.  But.........the gov't shutdown today and the ORHF is uncertain, so I texted them and asked them to come on in today for their tours.  As if things weren't stressful enough, road construction on the dam caused some to have to wait forever on their way, and then the trolley overheated and stalled on the dam after the noon tour.  But all ended well for the tours and then 12 of us enjoyed Pierce Arrow tonight!

I may never vote for an incmubent again

Jackie and Dave made it for the noon tour
Dee and Tom arrived today
Tom, Stan, Connie, front row
Dee, David, me, Judy, Greg, , back row
Tom W heading out for his dam tour
Connie, Stan, and Judy on the 2:00

Greg and Dee took a pass and waiting in the Dewey for the tour to get back
They survived the dam tour!  With the best dam tour guide!

Stan donning Ron's new hat from the show
9-2-13:  Golf day at Holiday Hills for Tom, Ron, Dave, and David.  Shopping day for Jerri, Dee, Jackie, and me.

I believe the golfers flipped a coin to see who rides with the hat guy on the course - Dave B lost

Ron shows another way to wear the hat
Tom W, David, Dave, and Ron ready to roll
game faces

Gala let our peeps take advantage of the 50% off sale, so the Dewey gift shop was our first stop
found the Mule Barn in Hollister for Jackie's birdfeed.  See an ass in this pic?

Jackie and Dee picked out new hooters for themselves.

10-3-13:  Since we had to move the dam tours (and good thing because the trolley was out of commission all day), David and Tom W played Ledgestone Golf Course.  Dee, Jerri, and I spent the morning playing Panties.  Then after taking them back to their rigs, I took Rocky for a swim. Tonight, we all went to supper at Charlie's where Rebecca Dawn sang to the guys and then just handed me the mic (to David's dismay) so I could sing Satin Sheets to everyone.

beautiful course

the girls playing Panties. Sometimes selfies are painful

these little boys threw sticks to Rocky and he loved every minute of it

These Boots are Made for Walking -- sing it Stan the Man

is Tom puckering up?

Ron is dazzled

I very skillfully kept her away from my guy...

by taking the mic

Satin Sheets to lie on...............

David loves my singing
Dawn hurt her fingers last night clapping at the Eagles tribute
10-4-13:  This evening Sons of the Pioneers Chuckwagon is on the itenerary.  David and I enjoyed this last year and many years ago in CO.  This year, the weather is just perfect for this event.  It's an outdoor (pavillion) cowboy supper with Sons of the Pioneers serenading us. The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theater announced recently that they will be closing their doors this month after 54 years in the business. Hopefully, someone will take it over.

back row: David, Tom W, Tom O, Stan, Karen, Harold, Judy
center: me, Dee, Jerri, Connie, Dawn, Jackie, George

naptime?

Hi ya!

I told the server I needed a whole pitcher of sweet tea

So he brought me this with a long, long, straw

Sons of the Pioneers are great!  Beautiful, relaxing music.

Chris, our server, who named Connie "Sugar Britches"

Tom, Dee, David, and I stopped at Andy's for custard afterwards and saw this Great Dane ordering at the drive-thru

10-5-13:  Tonite we have a dinner cruise on Lake Taneycomo aboard the River Princess.  The boat is beautiful and it was a very smooth ride!  Our group of 14 had the bottom floor of the boat all to ourselves.  That was nice because we could move around freely to take pix.  The temps outside dropped today so it was around 50 throughout most of the cruise. And drizzly.  Beautiful, but made it a little chilly getting out on deck. The windows on the boat are perfect for sightseeing though. We saw bald eagles, osprey, blue heron, black ducks, a racoon. and historic Rockaway Beach as we enjoyed each others' company.  Tonight is the last night for some of us to get together, so this was a wonderful finale.

David and me waiting to board

The girls' table

evidently I was the only one who thought that was funny

Trenton, our cutie pie server

David and me out on deck

Rockaway Beach  - this was our turnaround point

Table Rock Dam pretty much killed the economy here when it was built

Cap'n Gus let me drive the boat!

power steering -- George said I got up to 8 mph

shiny walls in the boat make Jerri look like she was waving both arms

heading back upstream -- the rainclouds are finally breaking up

Love the USA -- even in a shutdown

from the front deck

going downstream we saw one eagle, going upstream we saw these 2 playing on a limb

wonderful evening -- gotta love photobombers

What a fantastic week!  Looking so forward to seeing most of these sweet folks at JCRV this winter.

We enjoyed our last night with Tom and Dee at Mr. Gilberti's
And afterwards -- Andy's for custard
yum, yum
Cooper got to join us for dessert!

Happy Trails to You! Until We Meet Again!

Roy, Dale, and Bullet
