Twisted Sistas!

No, not these
Nor these
Nor this
Not even this!
But this!  This is part of the Twisted Sisters (aka 3 Sisters) drive

Sue changed the name of this to Friendship Scarf
1-27-13:  Learned the Effin Scarf -- aka Friendship Scarf pattern.  In the process I learned the backward loop cast on due to the crazy yarn.  Loved the pattern!
Jerri taught us to make this cool little flower
Flower Children
1-30-13:  Jerri taught us to make these cool flowers today in crafts!  Still a flower child at heart.

1-31-13:  David and I had a wonderful date day today beginning at the blood lab in Boerne!  haha. We know how to have a good time.  Then we went on to The Rim in San Antone, Fredricksburg and Harper.  Began Laura's cowl today.  Jerri decided it's time for me to learn to knit in the round.  Started off not too well.  (see Gap-tastic Cowl on craft blog)

2-1-13:  Girls' day in Comfort -- the best yarn shop ever!  Then ate at the Cocky Rooster.

Hookers (knitting and crocheting)
rig washers
good signal from up there?
like new again
2-2-13:  Jerri, Cindy, Dawn, Connie, Sue, and I knitted/crocheted outside on this gorgeous, perfect day in the hill country!  Oh, and supervised the rig wash.

Super Bowl Watch Party?  We thought it was crafts!
2-3-13:  After another day of knitting outside, we went to the Super Bowl Watch party in Western Town.  The girls took knitting, crocheting (we can't get enough), flowers, and coasters to work on.  Fun night.

2-4-13:  David and I went to see Silver Linings Playbook.  Just, wow!!  Wonderful movie that I'd love to see again.

2-5-13:  Sarah invited Jerri and me to her house to play Panties.  Dee and Ann were there. Jerri was a little nervous about playing with Dee and Ann -- the "big girl Panties" ladies!  But she held her own very well.  She came in first or 2nd I believe.  All I know for sure is I was dead last!

Cooper's BBQ in Llano
Jerri acting like she meant to sit down on the floor
2-7-13:  Several of us drove over to Llano today to eat at Cooper's BBQ.  I had goat meat and a little of David's brisket.  Yummy.  Stopped at the little fabric shop on the square.

2-8-13:  David and I went to see Identity Thief.  It was so-so.  Funny spots.

Jackie cracking JCRV pecans down in Florida
Some of her candied pecans
And her pecan pie for V Day
2-9-13:  Jackie and Dave rec'd the JCRV pecans in Florida today.  She had a great place on the beach to crack em!

2-11-13:  Jerri, Sarah, and I went to Lady Bird in Fredricksburg to play Panties with Dee and Ann.  Fun to be together with the ladies who taught me to play!  Oh, and on the way home Jerri DID NOT need to stop at Walmart!  Woohoo!

Me and my movie date in San Antone
fancy schmancy theater
w/wide leather chairs
and "torches" all around
2-14-13:  Date day for David and me.  Went to breakfast, then to San Antone to see Lincoln at the Palladium movie theater. Pretty impressive place.  Not sure how many theaters are in there, but our movie was showing in #19.

2-15-13:  Took Mr. Ken, Jerri, and George over to Alamo Springs for a burger and wonderful drive!  Mr. Ken treated us all.

2-16-13:  Girls' day in Comfort at the Tin Smith's Wife.  And today I finished Jake's Boyfriend Scarf!  Great pattern for a guy scarf.

2-17-13:  The girls' went to see Safe Haven today.  Don't waste your money.  Pretty slow & lame.  I think they just wanted to introduce a couple of new actors.

2-18-13:  David and I chose President's day to be our date day this week.  Took 2 of the 3 Twisted Sisters roads.  We took 336 and 335. Breathtaking!!  Now those are some hills!!!  Open ranges, curves, hills, Frio Canyon, McLaurin  Massacre site, Leakey, Medina. These 3 roads are hot motorcycle drives. We didn't get pix on 335 because there were so few places to pull over. Stopped for a burger at the Apple Store and a quick stop at my fave fabric store in Medina. Wonderful day with a wonderful man.

Here's our sign

Dawn, me, Sue, Connie, Jerri at Sue's cya later lunch
2-20-13:  Had our "cya later" lunch with Sue at Bella Vita.  Love my rv'er peeps.  JCRV gets better each year!

Carolyn, Dee, Jerri, Sarah, and Ann playing Panties
2-21-13:  Played cards again in Fredricksburg with Dee, Ann, Sarah, Jerri, and Carolyn.  David played golf with Tom.  Retirement rocks!

Great minds. Don from AR and I both wore our Grand Marais shirts -- unplanned.
Tom is just a goober --  is that why we get along so  well?
2-22-13:  Potluck at JCRV. HUGE crowd!

2-23-13:  Our date day today consisted of stopping at Comfort for some yarn, going to Leon Springs to the driving range, and back to Comfort for lunch.  We also located the Civil War monument in Comfort.  Interesting story of the massacre of about 60 German sympathizers for the Union.

2-24-13:  Lakehouse with Sarah, Jerri and George, and Tom and Dee. This afternoon David and I introduced Screwy Louie to George and Jerri.  Knitted the rest of the evening.

Justin, Andrew, Brooke, and Asher enjoying WS Rocky
2-25-13:  High winds today!  Kinda reminds me of Kansas.  But, Kansas is being plummeted by Winter Storm Rocky!  14-18 feet of snow!

Jake's hat
Knitted my first hat today!  It was tricky getting the hang of it!  But loved how it turned out. Will def make more.  It's a guy hat and the pattern is called "Relax, Man".

Played Chicken Foot tonite and said bye to Don and Maxine.

can ya see the SILVER in the bag?
2-26-13:  So 2013 is our Silver Anniv year.  Of course I want some silver jewelry.  David?  He wanted a golf bag.  He had his first round with it today and had a record 18!  All about the bag, I guess.

2-28-13:  Planned a big "Bandera" night at the rv park for tonite.  We did this last year and it was a blast.  But today turned a little chilly.  So we moved it to the clubhouse. They guys grilled out back and we ate, potluck style inside.  Very nice!

Will close this post with some more of David's wonderful pix from here in the orchard.  You can get a glimpse of why we love to spend our winters here!

March will be our last month here and that post is coming soon.

Love to all!
