Elvis' Birthplace |
1-24-15: After getting pix of Elvis' birthplace in Tupelo (for Lisa) and spending the night in a hotel last night, we headed out for the remainder of our road trip.
just about the size house I'd like when we settle down |
didn't go inside, just some quick pix |
wonderful sky shot driving down the road |
stopped at the Chickasaw Village Site - this would be a great place to do some walking in the Tupelo area |
very educational |
oops |
Bynum Mounds |
went through Jeff Busby Campground again since it wasn't raining |
drove up Little Mountain for the view |
as with all the beautiful campgrounds on the Trace, no hookups but free |
Possom Haw -- one of the few hollies that loses its leaves |
how cool is this sky shot from inside the truck? |
French Camp |
privately owned B&B on the Trace |
cafe and gift shop |
carriage that belonged to LeFlore (his name is spelled differently on just about every sign) |
"The Rez" -- Reservoir at Jackson |
Cotton field |
farmers along the trace plant crops that were typical in the 1800's |
prairie grasses |
common wildlife seen on the Trace |
privately owned field |
Cole's Creek |
nearly home |
Cole's Creek |
home again, home again jiggety jig |
