Eaglets and the Sky

the boys really liked this one -- and we're all hoping the eaglets' aim stays clear of the cam
The above pix of the PA eaglets are at about 4 weeks. All of my eagle pix were taken by various people watching them on fb.  Can you believe how fast they are growing?  It amazes me how the parents take care of them in so many way!  I especially love the pix where the parents are working together moving a stick to the other side of the nest.  Isn't Nature grand??? Love keeping the boys up on their progress! So thankful for the Game and Fish Commission for setting up the eagle cam so we can all learn.

About 5 weeks old above.  Isn't their coloring beautiful? And look at those feet! Well, the inevitable happened. The cam did get some poo poo on it.  For several days it was really hard to see the nest, but the rains helped clear it off somewhat!  It's so cute when they check out the camera.

At about 6 weeks old, the eaglets are nearly as big as their parents!  And really wanting to fledge!

And they're fledging!  Look at that wingspan!  Oh, and they do have tongues!

The month of May proved pretty stormy in Kansas this year.  I've included a few of my fave sky pix.

Ranger Jacob sent me this pic of the Yellow Tulip Poplar that started blooming this spring at Mt Locust -
this a different kind of tulip tree than what I'd grown up around.  They're very tall.

Peonies are abundant ornamentals in the midwest -- something we'd never heard of in the south
