The Covid19 has most of the country shut down this spring. We are trying to stay healthy.....and happy. Lots of protocols for staying healthy. Bowie County began a "shelter-in-place" order on March 18. This means that we cannot leave our homes except for "essential" trips: groceries, medical, work, (and only essential businesses can remain open), and exercise in a park or in our neighborhood, fishing, golf, etc. A week or so later, the state of TX issued the same order statewide. Schools in our area will remain closed until May 4. Arkansas schools are officially closed for the rest of the school year. However, they haven't done a "shelter-in-place" order.

Waiting on Gus |
So very thankful our kids are healthy and, so far, staying employed through this. Even though we can't have Gus over due to our age and the recommendations, I've cooked for his a couple of times and had him come over and meet me in the front yard. Also very thankful we all have food and shelter for it. And toilet paper! For some reason, tp has been flying off the shelves since all this began in late Feb.

Lisa told us her neighborhood goes out every night at 8:00 to howl at the moon against Covid19. hmmm. I told her that I was told to pray for a minute every night at 8:00. So..... |

Lisa and I started off the session with our masks on, cause we're cool |

So great catching up with these girls! |

our 2nd Sunday School on FB Messenger Video Chat |
We've all learned how to have video chats with groups of friends, Bible study groups, etc. Churches are honoring the social distancing by having online services. A small handful of staff (preacher, music leader, and tech folks) present the church service for us to watch from home.
Teachers are providing lessons via Zoom to their students, while homeschooling their own kiddos.
|
Tricia Jones made masks for everyone at church, so I had her make some extras for family |
|
My friend, Celia, shared a pic of herself in hers in AZ |
|
Gus made me jump a little when he sent me his mask pic |
It's finally been recommended that everyone wear a mask when out in public such as the grocery store or dr office. Medical personel get first dibs on official masks, which are already in short supply. So folks who have fabric and can sew are making masks galore to sell or share to individuals and groups of medical people. The patterns are a "better than nothing" solution.
