There are some who can live without wild things,

and some who cannot. --- Aldo Leopold

I love the brightness of this Desert Chicory ---- like sunshine!

There was so much beauty all around me on my walk at Bringle today.  And in our yard when I got back home.  So much to be thankful for!  And today, it kinda felt like I was being watched.  You'll see what I mean.

this little White Crowned Sparrow (?) led the way along the TAMUT pond

The hot pink of Pink Sorrel is luscious!  Honeybees think so, too.

Lance-Leaved Coreopsis, or Tickseed

I try to remember to take the underside pic of they DYC's for ID help

Hairy Hexagonia perhaps

Wild Geraniums going to seed become "Crane's Bill" and it's easy to see why.  This one is Carolina Crane's -Bill.

One of a few faces I say today.....and that saw me,  Who do you see?

Last year I spotted these at Bringle for the first time and have been watching for them to bloom again this year.
Red-Purple Beebalm.

One of the roses in our yard that was planted before we moved in.

This cute little Green Anole was showing out for me in ofy.  He kept puffing out his red/orange dewlap, but I wasn't quick enough for a photo.

Caught him in mid-dance.

check out those "ribs"

Feeling lucky!  Found in ofy and passed forward to Trish Jones -- who made tons of masks for our family and friends.

Cool to come across this Indigo in the woods at Bringle.  A first for me.

Nuttall's Wild Indigo

This Common Vetch against the backdrop of  a Pink Lady Primrose caught my eye.

Indian Blankets and a Wish.

One of my fave Kudzu spots on my walk near Golf Ranch.
"The vine that ate the South".

Hairy Vetch is looking sharp this week.

Red-Purple Beebalm is popping out now!

One of my friends said it reminds her of Honeysuckle on a stick!

Such a fun flower.

One has to really be looking down to catch a glimpse of tiny Japanese Mazus.

Buck Moth

Having a little mid-morning snack.

This Clover is pulling lookout duty.

One of our fave roses in our yard.  Reminds me of sherbet.

Self-Heal is medicinal, as many wildflowers are. I see a face here, too!

Love this stunning Iris that Deanna next door gave us !

April 2020 Quarantine

The Covid19 has most of the country shut down this spring. We are trying to stay healthy.....and happy.  Lots of protocols for staying healthy.  Bowie County began a "shelter-in-place" order on  March 18.  This means that we cannot leave our homes except for "essential" trips: groceries, medical, work, (and only essential businesses can remain open), and exercise in a park or in our neighborhood, fishing, golf, etc. A week or so later, the state of TX issued the same order statewide.  Schools in our area will remain closed until May 4.  Arkansas schools are officially closed for the rest of the school year.  However, they haven't done a "shelter-in-place" order.

I drove through David's fave chicken place to pick up lunch

We are allowed to do drive through restaraunts and curbside pick up.

Waiting on Gus

So very thankful our kids are healthy and, so far, staying employed through this.  Even though we can't have Gus over due to our age and the recommendations,  I've cooked for his a couple of times and had him come over and meet me in the front yard. Also very thankful we all have food and shelter for it.  And toilet paper!  For some reason, tp has been flying off the shelves since all this began in late Feb.

Jakeb's Zoom Bday Party

My college peeps

Lisa told us her neighborhood goes out every night at 8:00 to howl at the moon against Covid19. hmmm.
I told her that I was told to pray for a minute every night at 8:00.  So.....

Lisa and I started off the session with our masks on, cause we're cool

So great catching up with these girls!

our 2nd Sunday School on FB Messenger Video Chat

We've all learned how to have video chats with groups of friends, Bible study groups, etc. Churches are honoring the social distancing by having online services.  A small handful of staff (preacher, music leader, and tech folks) present the church service for us to watch from home.
Teachers are providing lessons via Zoom to their students, while homeschooling their own kiddos.

Tricia Jones made masks for everyone at church, so I had her make some extras for family

My friend, Celia, shared a pic of herself in hers in AZ
Gus made me jump a little when he sent me his mask pic

It's finally been recommended that everyone wear a mask when out in public such as the grocery store or dr office. Medical personel get first dibs on official masks, which are already in short supply.  So folks who have fabric and can sew are making masks galore to sell or share to individuals and groups of medical people.  The patterns are a "better than nothing" solution.

James and Joseph with their new pet lion

It's been raining a lot around here, so I think we had a Sharknado in our living room

my new horsie

the cool thing is that with phone in hand, we can walk around our 3D animal to see all about it

Jane Exotic from Kansas

Justin and Brooke's new wolf is pretty interested in Avery

Howling at Covid19?

Former student Brittany's new tiger

and her gator (shoot' 'em)

She's petting her new lion

Pat got herself a tiger

Jakeb introduced me to a 3D animal google thing. These parents/teachers that are homeschooling are finding all sorts of cool things online!

I was invited to join the Red Door FB page which is all about decorating your door for Easter to symbolize the "blood of Jesus" and Passover

Can't get out and shop, so everyone used what they had.  I had a red scarf and a heart for Valentine's Day

My Easter "bonnet" before we Zoom for SS.  What isn't shown is that I'm wearing fuzzing pj pants

Brooke and Justin

Jerri and George

Jakeb and Lacey

David and me

We have a Quarantine Panties Tourney going as well.  4 couples are trying to play twice a week.  Girls vs Guys.  The plan is to play til the end of May or til school starts back....whichever comes first.

Going into Week 4 with Girls in the lead

National Siblings Day was this past week.  I am one lucky girl to have grown up with such an awesome big sister and big brother. Sure miss my sister!
