9-30-13: Fixin' to enjoy a week with our winter peeps from JCRV!
|
the ones who have trickled in are chowing down at Little Hacienda in Hollister tonight |
10-1-13: I had some of the group scheduled for a dam tour on Thursday. But.........the gov't shutdown today and the ORHF is uncertain, so I texted them and asked them to come on in today for their tours. As if things weren't stressful enough, road construction on the dam caused some to have to wait forever on their way, and then the trolley overheated and stalled on the dam after the noon tour. But all ended well for the tours and then 12 of us enjoyed Pierce Arrow tonight!
|
I may never vote for an incmubent again |

Jackie and Dave made it for the noon tour |

Jackie and Dee picked out new hooters for themselves.
10-3-13: Since we had to move the dam tours (and good thing because the trolley was out of commission all day), David and Tom W played Ledgestone Golf Course. Dee, Jerri, and I spent the morning playing Panties. Then after taking them back to their rigs, I took Rocky for a swim. Tonight, we all went to supper at Charlie's where Rebecca Dawn sang to the guys and then just handed me the mic (to David's dismay) so I could sing Satin Sheets to everyone.

10-4-13: This evening Sons of the Pioneers Chuckwagon is on the itenerary. David and I enjoyed this last year and many years ago in CO. This year, the weather is just perfect for this event. It's an outdoor (pavillion) cowboy supper with Sons of the Pioneers serenading us. The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theater announced recently that they will be closing their doors this month after 54 years in the business. Hopefully, someone will take it over.

Tom, Dee, David, and I stopped at Andy's for custard afterwards and saw this Great Dane ordering at the drive-thru |
10-5-13: Tonite we have a dinner cruise on Lake Taneycomo aboard the River Princess. The boat is beautiful and it was a very smooth ride! Our group of 14 had the bottom floor of the boat all to ourselves. That was nice because we could move around freely to take pix. The temps outside dropped today so it was around 50 throughout most of the cruise. And drizzly. Beautiful, but made it a little chilly getting out on deck. The windows on the boat are perfect for sightseeing though. We saw bald eagles, osprey, blue heron, black ducks, a racoon. and historic Rockaway Beach as we enjoyed each others' company. Tonight is the last night for some of us to get together, so this was a wonderful finale.
